Today was the Grand Canyon… We got up early, but apparently not early enough for the sunrise (we were told it would be 6:50, and the sky was already blue at 6…) so we didn’t get to see it. I was a bit of a pill all day. My back was hurting, I was tired, &c… Jerry loved it, even though I was holding her back. We did take the shuttle up to Hermit’s Rest, and stopped off at Hopi Point on the return trip. We had lunch in the park at El Tovar (Jerry’s small chili was massive, and my tuna was a bit bland) and then went back to our hotel for a rest.

We did however make it back for sunset. It didn’t have quite the same effect we were hoping for – but did make for some pretty skies.

We will make a brief return to the park on our way to Tucson tomorrow…
