Houston – Day Six: Houston, We Have a Problem…
More conference for Ken, and Jerry plays tourista…
We got up this morning and attended a hosted breakfast, hosted by a program presented by Ken’s company – and one that Jerry is interested in… After that, we went on our separate ways for the day…
While Ken was sitting and watching clips from upcoming programs for Public Television, Jerry was out having an adventure taking her outside of Houston proper. Unfortunately, the plan of going to mission control didn’t pan out but she did visit another Buc-ee’s, and visited a gift shop that specialises in NASA stuff (and is probably cheaper than the actual NASA shop!) Ken was treated to lunch with a speial performance from War frontman Lonnie Jordan, which also included free box set of their music. I guess it’s all part of being in show business, even though it’s public service media…
Ken was finished with the main event and retired to the hotel room, but not far behind him was Jerry (who suffered her worst bit of traffic, with all the Public Television people at the lifts…) After a bit of a rest, we thought about getting an appetizer at the hotel restaurant – but quickly decided against it Luckily for us, the first evening event was well stocked with food and drinks! In fact, it was also stocked with stuff and things to see and do – Jerry managed to get costumed characters competing in the Wii boxing. The second of the evening events were four separate rooms (next to each other) with shows or companies being hospitable. People seen here included Deepak Chopra, Rick Steves, and half of the Beautiful Day team from Scandinavia. All in all, a nice evening…
